The Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Autofocus Lens is a high-magnification zoom lens with 5x zoom ratio, ranging from wide-angle of 28mm to medium-telephoto of 135mm.

This lens features a built-in compact Image Stabilizer (IS) unit, newly developed for this lens. Canon Image Stabilizer (IS) technology reduces unintentional image blur caused by camera “shake” when taking photos with slow shutter speeds in dimly lit or twilight scenes, in natural light with a telephoto lens, or with macro shots, without relying on a higher ISO setting or the aid of a flash or tripod. Image Stabilization sensors in the lens, compensates for camera motion, responding quickly to erratic shaking as well as broad, slow-swaying motions of the camera body. It enables pictures to be taken at shutter speeds up to 2-3 stops slower than would otherwise be possible, allowing photographers to get sharper and better pictures.

The optical system uses a molded glass (GMo) aspherical lens element to provide sharp definition throughout the entire zoom range. A ring USM (Ultrasonic Motor) and inner focusing system assures silent and high-speed AF and full-time manual focusing.
