Sigma TC-2001 2x Teleconverter
(for Canon EOS)
Better reach, great quality.
The Sigma TC-2001 2x Teleconverter is developed exclusively for Sigma's latest lenses. By mounting it in between a telephoto lens and a camera, the offered magnification of focal length of the TC-2001 is 2 times. It incorporates 2 SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements that offer excellent aberration correction.
Built with the highest-quality materials and to the most exacting standards, this teleconverter is suitable for professional use since its durable construction is dust and splash-proof. It is compact and light, and provides easy extension of focal range.
Incorporating 2 SLD glass element for better image quality:
The TC-2001 incorporates 2 SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements. By minimizing chromatic aberration effectively, it achieves very good optical performance, thus it is possible to maintain the optical quality of the original lens.
Compatible with lenses of large diameter:
Its power distribution is designed for lenses of large diameter. Without affecting the lens performance, it offers stable image quality through the corners. The rich peripheral brightness enables shooting quality images at every focal length.
The durable dust and splash-proof construction is suitable for professional use:
The TC-2001 is dust and splash-proof, and designed for high durability. Along with a compatible telephoto lens (such as the Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports or Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports, this teleconverter is able to meet the demands that professional photographers require in severe shooting conditions.
AF is effective up to f/8:
When the new Sigma TC-2001 is attached to cameras that are compatible with AF at F8, it is possible to shoot with AF.
Evaluation with Sigma's own MTF measuring system "A1":
Sigma used to measure lens performance with an MTF measuring system using conventional sensors. However, Sigma has now developed its own proprietary MTF (modulation transfer function) measuring system (A1) using 46-megapixel Foveon direct image sensors. Even previously undetectable high-frequency details are now within the scope of quality control inspections. Each Sigma TC-2001 will be checked using this "A1" method before it is shipped.
Made in Japan:
All Sigma's manufacturing -- right down to the molds and parts -- is carried out under an integrated production system, entirely in Japan. Sigma is now one of the very few manufacturers whose products are solely "made in Japan". At Sigma, "We like to think our products are somehow imbued with the essence of our homeland, blessed as it is with clean air and water, and focused, hard-working people. We pride ourselves on the authentic quality of Sigma products, born of a marriage between highly attuned expertise and intelligent, advanced technology. Our sophisticated products have satisfied professionals and lovers of photography all over the world, because our manufacturing is based on genuine craftsmanship, underpinned by the passion and pride of our experts."
Ease of use:
A rubber part is attached to where the TC-2001 mounts to the original lens, preventing the devices from scratching each other. It features the same materials and finishing for integrated design as the lenses from Sigma's latest product lines.
