Can be used on all Nikon film and digital SLR cameras - metering availability will vary with camera model
Fast "standard" lens for all Canon digital and film SLR cameras.
For Canon APS-C DSLR cameras (less)
This lens is for use exclusively on Canon digital SLR cameras with APS-C sensors - not for film SLRs.
This lens is in very clean condition.
This lens features a fast f/2.8 Maximum Aperture and Canon's latest optical Image Stabilizer technology, providing up to 3-stop compensation for image blur caused by camera shake and slow shutter speeds. This ensures clear, crisp images, and makes handheld photography possible in more low-light situations than ever before.
Designed specifically for digital photography, the lens has specially shaped lens elements and Super Spectra coatings to suppress ghosting and flare, which can be caused by reflections off digital camera sensors. Features three aspherical lens elements (two types) as well as a Super-UD glass element for high image quality at all focal lengths. Ring-type USM provides ultra-quite, super-fast, precision auto focusing and predictive tracking. Inner Focusing and new AF algorithms, with full-time mechanical manual focusing. Produce brilliant out-of-focus characteristics with the circular aperture. (less)

Usable on all Canon EOS series film and digital SLR cameras
Exellent short range zoom lens for all Canon EOS Film and Digital SLR cameras
Glass is very clean and free of scratches.
Lens Features Four Built In Filters (L-1A, Y-48, LB-180 And O-56)
For Canon EOS film and digital SLR cameras.
The EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens features one UD lens element that reduces chromatic aberration, helping to achieve excellent image quality with high resolution and contrast. The front element does not rotate, ensuring easy compatibility with accessories like polarizing filters, and full-time manual focus is available even while in AF mode. Enhanced coatings on the lens elements deliver excellent color balance and minimize ghosting and flare, and a 7-blade circular aperture delivers beautiful, soft backgrounds. The EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens has a compact design thanks to a new six-group zoom system that provides a maximum magnification of 0.29x at the telephoto end and a minimum focusing distance of 2.79 ft./0.85m throughout the zoom range. This lens also uses a UD-glass lens element to correct chromatic aberration for excellent image quality throughout the zoom range. This EF-S telephoto lens with great features delivers excellent performance at an affordable price for all photographers.
55-250mm f/4.0-3.5 Telephoto High-Performance Lens With 12 elements in 10 groups including UD glass elements are used to correct chromatic aberration for excellent image quality throughout the zoom range. Best-in-class f/4.0-3.5 brightness and high picture quality combine to ensure high imaging performance with improved sharpness and contrast all over the zooming range. An improved lens coating reduces glare when shooting against the light and minimizes ghosts and flare. In addition, with coverage that extends to the super-telescopic domain equivalent to 400mm on a 35mm camera lens, this lens makes it possible to capture the motion of a distant subject or take spectacular landscape images by taking advantage of the compression effect produced by telescopic lens.
A derivative of the EF lens mount created for a subset of Canon digital single-lens reflex cameras with APS-C sized image sensors. Cameras supporting the EF-S mount are backward-compatible with the EF lens mount. The "S" in EF-S stands for "short back focus", which means that the rear element of the lens is closer to the image sensor than on regular 35 mm SLR cameras. The proximity of the rear element to the image sensor greatly enhances the possibilities for wide angle and very wide angle lens, enabling them to be made smaller, lighter (containing less glass), and faster (larger aperture).
Close-Up shooting from as close as 1.1m throughout the zoom range
The focusing system uses floating and inner focusing mechanisms to provide a minimum shooting distance of 1.1 m throughout the zoom range. With a maximum shooting magnification of 0.31x (equivalent to 0.42x on a 35 mm camera lens), this lens out-performs any other in its class (large-aperture zoom lenses capable of covering the super-telescopic domain). This powerful close-up capability makes it easy to capture close-ups of blossoming flower or a resting butterfly that would fly away if you approached too closely.
Image Stabilizer Technology (IS) for ultra-fast autofocusing
Camera shake causes lens movement during image exposure, which shifts the angle of incoming light relative to the optical axis and results in blurred images. Canon IS Lenses correct for camera shake by shifting certain optical components in inverse relation to the lens movement. This maintains the position of incoming light rays on the film or capturing element and helps prevent blur caused by camera shake.
Circular Aperture Mechanism
The circular aperture makes it possible to create a smooth, uniform, aesthetically pleasing blur. (less)
